Printmaking Sisters' technique brings White Line into the 21st century, and varies from the original method, instead of a traditional woodblock, we use a manufactured block, which is inexpensive and very easy to carve by hand. The block holds and transfers the watercolour beautifully. This method doesn't require a press to produce a perfect print and can be easily carried out at home.
In this lesson we give a brief description of white line origins and the Printmaking Sisters 21st Century take on the method.
We show works from Blanch Lazzell, Kate Hanlon, Cressida Campbell and Annie Day.
Materials you will need to collect to get creating.
We demonstrate how you can achieve a white line print.
